Social Networking is one of the most popular uses of the Internet, it includes everything! People can publish things online; it can also take different shapes from informative to entertainment purposes. Facebook and Myspace are most commonly used to communicate with others and to keep in touch with friends and famly from your past and present.

Read below to find out more uses for MySpace, Facebook and Youtube.

Facebook is one of the most popular social netowrking website for college students at any university to create and manage a profile. Within your profile you can post up pictures, inform other of your beliefs and interests, keep others up to date on your relationship status and sexual preference along with several other categories. Through Facebook students can branch out and meet other students that go to their university, share common interests, play a common sport, and enjoy the same type of activities. It is also a great way to keep in contact with your old friends and share your new experiences with since you have seen them last. Keeping in touch is also much easier now because all you have to do is send a quick message, no waiting in line to send off a letter anymore. Social networking has blossomed through sites like Facebook and will continue to grow for a long time to come.

"Wow, look at that beautiful girl over there, should I go ask her for her phone number? How about if I can sit by her for lunch or take her to a movie? Na, I'll just look her up on Facebook and send her a poke." Situations such as this are becoming all to common with Facebook. It has taken away the personal interaction that takes place when two people meet and try to establish a relationship. From a different perspective, Facebook can be great for those people who are not as outgoing as others. It allows them to meet others, establish a comfort level with that person, and makes it easier to "break the ice". As witheverything, it is easy to see the benefits and the drawbacks of social networking through websites.

Poke You is a parody of Enrique Iglesias' song Hero, and has to deal with the poke feature on Facebook.

Facebook Love is a Facebook.com Informercial in the form of eHarmony parody.

Facebook has become such a "Hot Commodity" that many people are becoming addicted to it. Students are often bypassing homework, studying, and even working because the popularity of Facebook. One's desire to have the "best" profile on the site can lead to excessive time wasted on Facebook when you should be studying or working.

A good thing to keep in mind is manage your time wisely or it will all slip away from you!

MySpace.com/ is a social networking website offering an interactive, user friendly network. It allows you to view friends profiles, blog, join groups, post photos, and download music and videos. MySpace also features a search engine and an e-mail system. It was founded in Santa Monica, California, USA, by Tom Anderson, and a few other computer gurus in 2003.

MySpace is the world's fourth popular website in English and the sixth popular in any language worldwide. It is the third popular website in the United States and almost everyone has a MySpace. Ranging in ages from the young teens to retired grandparents, but it is mostly commonly used during the teens and early adult years. MySpace has gradually gained popularity more than similar social networking websites to achieve nearly 80% of visits to social networking websites. It has become an increasingly influential part in contemporary popular culture.

The new pick up line today is, "So do you have MySpace?" Compared to, "So can I have your number?"

The MySpace company employs about 300 staff, and is owned by News Corporation. It does not disclose revenues or profits separately from News Corporation. With the 100 millionth account being created on August 9, 2006. The site reportedly attracts new registrations at a rate of 230,000 per day, with about 240 million profiles today.

MySpace is used by many people to keep in touch with friends and family. "It just makes it much easier for me to communicate with all of my friends that went away to college" (Hannah Meagher). MySpace is also a good tool to search for long lost friends and family members. "I hadn't talked to some of my Aunts in almost 10 years since my mom died, when I got a MySpace I looked them up, and now I talk to them everyday" (Jeffery Lancaster).

MySpace has many different settings to keep the publics profiles as protected as possible. You can make your profile private, block your blogs from people to see, make it required for people to add you as a friend only if they know your last name or e-mail address, or hide your friends and comments.

MySpace Music is a section of MySpace where artists can create pages so that their fans can access their music, tour dates, band info and more. This is also a great way to find out some local music that is in the same style that you normally like, as a way to find new music. MySpace is also home to various musicians, filmmakers, celebrities, and comedians who upload songs, short films, and other work directly onto their profile. These songs and films can also be embedded in other profiles, an interconnectedness which adds to MySpace's appeal.
